How Do We 'Create Your Diamond Ring'

Each diamond engagement ring from our 'Create Your Diamond Ring' section here at www.dejoria.co.uk is individually handmade for you - this means that you or your partner will be the first and only person to wear your stunning diamond engagement ring. Follow the steps below to see how we create these stunning pieces of diamond jewellery.

Stage 1 - Diamond Ring Mount Production

Your diamond ring mount is handmade in our workshops by skilled craftsmen who have many years of experience in the jewellery industry. Generally, our diamond ring mounts are made in either 18kt white gold, 18kt yellow gold, platinum, or a combination of 18kt yellow gold mount with platinum head. If you would like your diamond ring made in any other metal such as rose gold, for example, please contact our customer service helpline on 0845 355 1164. Please visit our precious metals page for more information.

Stage 2 - Hallmarking of Your Diamond Ring Mount

The precious metal is hallmarked - your guarantee that the platinum or gold is exactly that. A tiny hallmark is stamped on the inside of your diamond ring mount as its mark of authenticity. In the UK, it is law that ALL diamond jewellery, whether it be diamond engagement rings, diamond eternity rings, diamond rings, diamond earrings, diamond bracelets, diamond pendants or diamond necklaces be hallmarked.

Stage 3 - Quality Control of Your Diamond

When your loose diamond and certificate arrive at DeJoria HQ, they are inspected by our professional team of diamond jewellers to ensure they meet our strict quality control standards. As well as checking the diamond itself compared to the certificate, with GIA certified diamonds, we also check that the certificate number is microscopically laser inscribed into the girdle of the diamond.

Stage 4 - Setting & Polishing of Your Diamond Engagement Ring

Your diamond is then carefully set into the ring mount by one of our master craftsmen. Your diamond engagement ring is then finished and polished.

Stage 5 - Independent Valuation of Your Diamond Engagement Ring

Your finished diamond engagement ring and all supporting certification is sent to Safeguard Quality Assurance at the UK Assay Office for an independent appraisal and insurance valuation. This is carried out by independent gemmologists who examine the certificate and diamond, the workmanship, hallmarking etc, and produce an official dossier for you. The valuation figure they assign to your diamond engagement ring reflects what you would expect to pay for a diamond engagement ring of similar size and quality in the UK high street. All details, including the customers name and address, and the value of the diamond engagement ring, are also logged onto a national lost-and-found computer database. Diamond rings with a purchase price of £10,000+ are submitted for a luxury jewellery portfolio valuation which is presented to you in a leather binder.

Stage 6 - Preparation of Your Diamond Engagement Ring Package

Once your valuation dossier has been produced and following a final quality assurance check, your diamond engagement ring together with all supporting documentation is packaged ready for dispatch. We will NOT dispatch your diamond engagement ring without making personal contact with you first to confirm delivery arrangements.

Stage 7 - Dispatching Your Diamond Engagement Ring

Your diamond engagement ring is dispatched by Royal Mail Special Delivery, fully insured and guaranteed next day delivery. It requires a signature upon arrival.

Stage 8 - Customer Satisfaction

Finally, we will make contact with you to ensure that you are pleased with your purchase of your diamond engagement ring, and will ask you for 5 minutes for your time to complete an online customer satisfaction survey which we use both for our internal continual improvement programme and also for potential clients visiting our site to view. And don't forget - you have a 30 day money back guarantee for your complete peace of mind.
This whole process can take 21 days from order to delivery, although it is occasionally possible to produce our diamond engagement rings in less time if required by our clients.
