Q: WHAT IS THE ETHICAL POLICY OF DEJORIA DIAMONDS?
A: John Paul DeJoria firmly believes that 'success un-shared is no success at all' and has, over the years, personally donated many millions of pounds to highly worthwhile causes. www.dejoria.co.uk, in addition to actively promoting our 'conflict-free diamond' stance, will continue the wonderful tradition established by John Paul by ensuring that part of every diamond sale we make is ploughed back into education, health and environmental projects in the countries from which our 'conflict-free' diamonds are mined.

Q: WHAT ARE "CONFLICT" DIAMONDS?
A: It is a tragic fact that in several parts of the world where diamonds are mined, there exists a trade in illegal diamonds - usually to fund conflicts (a polite word for wars and other outrages which result in human misery). www.dejoria.co.uk is vehemently opposed to this trade in every form and we strive to assure that every diamond we sell is 'conflict-free'.

Q: I HAVE BEEN READING RECENTLY ABOUT "SYNTHETIC" DIAMONDS - WHAT ARE THESE?
A: Real diamonds have all been created naturally through intense levels of heat and pressure deep within the ground. All natural diamonds are thought to be between 70 million and 3 billion years old. They are mined, cut and polished by highly skilled craftsmen and, beyond that, are not tampered with. Synthetic or 'cultured' diamonds are laboratory-created imitations. In fact, all synthetic or 'cultured' diamonds must legally be declared as such. www.dejoria.co.uk assures, of course, that all our diamonds are real and natural.

Q: WHAT ARE FANCY COLOURED DIAMONDS?
A: Most people when they think of diamonds think of white, colourless diamonds. However, diamonds actually exist in many different colours such as red diamonds, blue diamonds, pink diamonds, green diamonds, orange diamonds, yellow diamonds, grey diamonds brown diamonds and black diamonds. The more vivid and intense the colour of the diamond, the more rare and valuable the diamonds become. Natural coloured diamonds such as these command astronomical prices. Q: DOES DEJORIA HAVE A RETAIL OUTLET?
A: No, www.dejoria.co.uk is based exclusively online. Our website is our "shop window" and, therefore, we don't have the massive overheads that a traditional jewellery shop has. As a result, we are able to pass these savings onto our valued clients and provide them with the very finest quality diamond jewellery at a price significantly lower than the high street (if indeed you could find equivalents to our fine jewellery in high street shops).

Q: CAN I SEE AN ITEM OF DIAMOND JEWELLERY PRIOR TO PURCHASE?
A: Generally, no, for the reasons above. On mnay items such as diamond engagement rings, we do offer full rotational images and video clips to provide you with a true-to-life example of how your finished diamond engagement ring will look. We do welcome visits from any clients who might wish to meet us at our HQ - an invitation which many have indeed taken advantage of. Also, we are often able to arrange to send you a sample of the design you are interested in, so please call us on 0845 355 1164 to discuss.

Q: HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT YOUR PRICES ARE BELOW THE HIGH STREET?
A: All the diamond engagement rings from our 'Create Your Diamond Ring' section are passed to SafeGuard Quality Assurance Limited for an independent valuation when finished. The value that SafeGuard assign to the item reflects what you would expect to pay in the high street for an item of similar size and quality. We generally find that our prices on diamond engagement rings, diamond rings and diamond jewellery are around 30-40% less than the high street price - proved by some recent valuations - see our Price Comparisons page. Note that we do NOT value diamond rings prior to sale to try to induce a sale - all our valuations are carried out after the diamond ring has been produced - and the valuation carries the name and address details of the client.

Q: I'M LOOKING FOR A PARTICULAR SHAPE OF DIAMOND THAT I CAN'T SEE ON YOUR SITE. CAN I STILL GET THIS THROUGH YOU?
A: Most probably, yes. We can only display a certain amount of diamonds and diamond jewellery on our site. However, in reality, we have access to much, much more. For instance, if you are looking for asscher cut diamonds, radiant cut diamonds or cushion cut diamonds, then we can provide these to you as easily as brilliant round cut diamonds, emerald cut diamonds, marquise cut diamonds and the rest.

Q: I ASSUME THAT THE LARGER THE DIAMOND, THE MORE EXPENSIVE IT WILL BE?
A: Not necessarily. With diamonds, size is not everything. The brilliance or 'sparkle' - and, therefore, the value - of a diamond is dependent upon the combination of a number of factors, mainly the "4Cs" - Cut, Carat size, Colour and Clarity. You could, therefore, find a larger diamond of poorer quality being cheaper than a smaller diamond of better quality. Q: I UNDERSTAND THAT THERE ARE DIFFERENT QUALITIES OF DIAMONDS AVAILABLE, SO HOW DO I KNOW THAT MY DIAMOND WILL SPARKLE?
A: At DeJoria, we only use the top 20% of available diamonds from across the world. These strict minimum standards guarantee that your DeJoria diamond will sparkle beautifully...for life.

Q: IS IT IMPORTANT TO GET A GRADING CERTIFICATE WITH MY DIAMOND?
A: Diamond certificates are available in many forms, generally on diamonds larger than a third carat and are extremely important. A diamond certificate is the only way of assuring the quality of your diamond. That said, it is also important that the certificate comes from a recognised diamond laboratory.

Q: WHICH DIAMOND LABORATORY DOES DEJORIA USE?
A: We work with several of the major diamond laboratories around the world, including GIA, AGS, IGI, HRD & EGL - click here for more information. This means that the majority of our diamonds, especially for our 'Create Your Diamond Ring' items, are imported directly from either Antwerp or New York's diamond districts, together with their accompanying certification. We would ALWAYS advise to select a certified diamond when purchasing your diamond engagement ring.

Q: DOES ALL DEJORIA DIAMOND JEWELLERY COME ACCOMPANIED WITH A DIAMOND GRADING CERTIFICATE?
A: All diamonds used in our 'Create Your Diamond Ring' items are accompanied by their original and unique diamond certificate. For items in our 'Diamond Jewellery Collection', it depends upon the size and quantity of the diamonds contained in the item. We will, however, provide a certificate of authenticity with those items which are not accompanied by a single certificate and we do, of course, assure that all our diamonds are real, natural and "conflict-free".

Q: IS IT POSSIBLE TO HAVE THE CERTIFICATE NUMBER "ENGRAVED" ONTO THE DIAMOND?
A: Each GIA certified diamond of less than one carat in size has its unique certificate number microscopically laser inscribed into its girdle, meaning that there can never be any doubt that the diamond and certificate are one of the same. www.dejoria.co.uk also offers this service on other certified diamonds as well at the point of valuation. It is not possible to see this inscription with the naked eye, and extremely difficult to see even with a 10x magnifying loupe.

Q: WHO ARE SAFEGUARD AND WHAT DO THEY DO?
A: www.dejoria.co.uk enjoys a very close and successfully professional relationship with the UK Assay Office which was established in 1773. Through their hallmarking system, they are, effectively, guardians of jewellery quality and, therefore, consumer protection. The Assay Office, together with SafeGuard Quality Assurance Limited, also provides fully independent insurance valuation dossiers on our items of finished diamond jewellery. Q: WHAT INFORMATION DOES THE SAFEGUARD VALUATION DOSSIER CONTAIN?
A: Our items of finished diamond jewellery are passed to SafeGuard Quality Assurance Limited at the Assay Office and undergo a series of testing by independent gemologists. They examine the diamond and the accompanying certificate, the workmanship and the hallmarking etc, take digital photos of the item and log all the details on their national computer lost-and-found database. A dossier is produced for our clients with a digital photo, a full specification of the item of diamond jewellery and a value is assigned to the item, reflecting what you would expect to pay in the high street for an item of diamond jewellery of similar size and quality. The dossier also comes with full explanatory notes. For single purchases of diamond jewellery with a value in excess of £10,000, we will provide a luxury jewellery portfolio which comes presented to you in a leather bound wallet, as part of our package.

Q: HOW DO I ESTABLISH THE DIAMOND RING SIZE I REQUIRE?
A: If you are doing this in secret, simply take the internal diameter of one of her existing rings and equate this measurement to the chart on our site. We have 2 downloadable PDF files on our Ring Size Help page which you will find most useful.

Q: I HAVE A DESIGN IN MIND OF MY OWN AND WANT THIS TO BE MADE INTO A PIECE OF DIAMOND JEWELLERY. DO YOU OFFER THIS SERVICE?
A: We display a wide variety of diamond engagement ring and diamond jewellery designs on our site, some of which are exclusive to www.dejoria.co.uk (you will notice these by the logos next to the images), and we are hopeful that you would find what you are looking for in our fabulous ranges of diamond jewellery. That said, we have access to many hundreds of different ring "patterns" and obviously can't display them all on the site. Therefore, please do contact us if you see a diamond ring design elsewhere and would like to buy your diamond ring through www.dejoria.co.uk, as the chances are we can do it! Furthermore, we also realise that, on occasions, our clients are looking for one-off designs, and sometimes even looking to turn their design ideas into reality. With this in mind, we offer our 'Design with DeJoria' facility - "from concept to reality". Our CADCAM designers will produce a design based on the sketches you send us, and we will then get it produced! Note that this facility is not available during the months of November and December, and you can expect the whole process to take up to 6 weeks. Furthermore, as this would be a bespoke piece of diamond jewellery, you would not be eligible for our 30 day money back guarantee. Please also note that this facility is not just confined to diamond engagement rings - we can also produce diamond eternity rings, diamond earrings, diamond pendants, diamond necklaces and diamond bracelets of your design if you so wish.

Q: I WANT TO HAVE SOMETHING ENGRAVED INTO MY DIAMOND RING - CAN YOU DO THIS?
A: Yes - it is indeed possible for us to do this at the production stage on your diamond engagement ring or wedding band. Engraving is priced at £5 per character to a maximum of 10 characters. The characters can be letters or numbers, or a combination of both, and is usually in italic script. Q: WILL I RECEIVE A DISCOUNT ON ANY FUTURE PURCHASES I MIGHT MAKE FROM DEJORIA DIAMONDS?
Yes. We highly value all our customers and so provide you with a 5% discount on any future purchase you may wish to make. Q: CAN I SELECT A DIAMOND AND DIAMOND RING AND BUY IT ONLINE?
The DeJoria interactive diamond search facility allows you to do exactly this. Simply choose your ring mount style, metal and finger size, and you will then be able to browse our inventory of diamonds, narrowing your search with a slider mechanism, which generates a list of available diamonds that you can choose from to make your purchase. It couldn't be easier! Of course, at any time, if you want some assistance from one of DeJoria's diamond experts, you can contact us on 0845 355 1164 and we will provide you with whatever you need.

Q: HOW DO I MAKE PAYMENT FOR DIAMOND JEWELLERY THROUGH YOUR WEBSITE?
A: There are a number of ways you can do this. We accept all major credit and debit cards or you can arrange to send us either a bank transfer or cheque and take advantage of a 1.5% discount on the price. On items of diamond jewellery with a value up to £5,000, you are able to make payment online using a credit or debit card. On items with a value in excess of £5,000, payment is made over the phone. On items with a value over £500, we also offer DeJoria Finance, which allows you to purchase your piece of diamond jewellery straight away and defer payment on it until a later date. Note, however, that we can't accommodate short notice jobs if you make your purchase using DeJoria Finance - we need 21 days from order to delivery.

Q: CAN I ORDER IF I AM LOCATED OUTSIDE THE UK?

DELIVERY & RETURNS

Q: HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FROM ORDER TO DELIVERY?
A: This really depends upon the item you order. As a general rule, however, you should allow approx 14-21 days for items from our 'Create Your Diamond Ring' section and 7-14 days for items from our 'Diamond Jewellery Collection'. If you choose to have an item made through our 'Design with DeJoria' facility, the lead time on these items can often be 4-6 weeks. After all, these are not items we simply pick off the shelf of a warehouse - they are handmade items. We are, however, occasionally able to produce our diamond jewellery in less time than this if required by our clients, so please let us know. There is no charge for delivery on any item within the UK. For your convenience, we also operate an order tracking facility on our website so you can see the estimated dispatch date for your item. Alternatively, you can call our customer service helpline on 0845 355 1164 anytime for a progress report.

Q: CAN I HAVE MY ITEM OF DIAMOND JEWELLERY DELIVERED TO AN ALTERNATE ADDRESS?
A: Yes, this is often possible. If you make payment by bank transfer or cheque, then you simply need to let us know the alternate address at the point of dispatch. If you make payment by card, then we will need to see a form of ID (copy of passport or driving licence) prior to dispatching your item of diamond jewellery to an alternate address, to prove that you are who you say you are. Please note that if you choose to make your purchase of diamond jewellery using DeJoria Finance, then we can only dispatch your item of diamond jewellery to your home address - we cannot make exceptions to this rule.

Q: WHAT HAPPENS IF I ORDER THE DIAMOND RING BUT GET THE SIZE WRONG?
A: At www.dejoria.co.uk, whilst of course we endeavour to get the diamond ring size correct first time, we understand that it may not always be possible for our clients to be 100% sure of their partner's size. Therefore, uniquely, we offer a complimentary ring re-sizing service, if required, to our valued customers.

Q: WHAT HAPPENS IF I PROPOSE AND SHE SAYS "NO"?
A: Unfortunately, this does occasionally happen! However, for your piece of mind, you have a 30 day money back guarantee on your purchase from www.dejoria.co.uk, whereby you can return the item of diamond jewellery for whatever reason.
