Diamonds Throughout The Year
Posted By Richard Preece

There are many special occasions for romantic engagements with diamond engagement rings during the year, but none more so than Valentines Day and, of course, Christmas. Though which occasion should you choose for popping the question? Many believe there are more romantic gestures on Valentines Day than any other, though history tells us that in fact Christmas induces more proposals for consideration than at any other time of the year. That said, diamonds are a perfect way of demonstrating a commitment of love on Valentines Day, during Christmas or indeed at any point throughout the year.

There are more sales of diamonds in the build up to and during holiday periods than at any other time of year, such as Christmas for example. Some of this can be attributed to the fact that it allows more opportunity for couples to spend more than just a fleeting moment with each other. Valentines Day is over in a flash, with it probably falling on a day in the working week. This isn't conducive to making for a relaxed atmosphere on the day of proposal. Although Valentines Day is the day for lovers worldwide, some couples combine Valentines Day with their holiday entitlement to prolong the moment and spend some quality time together. If it is to be a Christmas proposal, then it's not just the happy couple who can celebrate - the whole family can enter into the spirit of things, as it's a holiday period for all.

The other factor to consider is, for some, the availability of more money during this time of year, with bonuses and monetary gifts being furnished by employers. Not everyone of course benefits from this seasonal windfall, though a large proportion of working individuals do, which can be seen from increased trade figures in diamonds generally.
